Luquina, a charming Aymara village located at the tip of the Chucuito peninsula, 67 km from the city of Puno, stands out for the warmth of its people and its breathtaking views of the lake. Here you will have the opportunity to share unique moments with communities dedicated to livestock, agriculture and traditional fishing.
DAY 1: Uros – Taquile – Luquina:
We start with the pick up from your hotel in Puno to go to the port, where we will board a speedboat to the Floating Islands of the Uros. We will visit 2 of the more than 90 islands, learning about their history, traditions and unique lifestyle.
We continue our journey to the beautiful Taquile Island, famous for its handcrafted textiles and ancestral customs, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. We will enjoy panoramic views of the lake and a typical lunch in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will sail to Luquina Chico, on the Chucuito peninsula, where we will be welcomed by a host family who will provide us with lodging.
After settling into comfortable local houses (with private bathrooms and solar-powered hot water), we will hike to the viewpoint to appreciate an unforgettable sunset over Lake Titicaca, accompanied by our host family. We end the day with a traditional dinner.
DAY 2: Luquina – Puno
After an early breakfast, we will have the morning free to participate in the daily activities of the community, such as cattle ranching and agriculture. Optionally, you can enjoy kayaking or biking (with additional cost).
Before returning to Puno, we will enjoy a typical lunch, closing this unforgettable cultural and natural experience.
