Here you will have the opportunity to share unique moments with communities dedicated to livestock, agriculture and traditional fishing.

DAY 1: Uros – Taquile – Luquina:

We start with the pick up from your hotel in Puno to go to the port, where we will board a speedboat to the Floating Islands of the Uros. We will visit 2 of the more than 90 islands, learning about their history, traditions and unique lifestyle.

We continue our journey to the beautiful Taquile Island, famous for its handcrafted textiles and ancestral customs, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. We will enjoy panoramic views of the lake and a typical lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will sail to Luquina Chico, on the Chucuito peninsula, where we will be welcomed by a host family who will provide us with lodging.

After settling into comfortable local houses (with private bathrooms and solar-powered hot water), we will hike to the viewpoint to appreciate an unforgettable sunset over Lake Titicaca, accompanied by our host family. We end the day with a traditional dinner.

DAY 2: Luquina – Puno

After an early breakfast, we will have the morning free to participate in the daily activities of the community, such as cattle ranching and agriculture. Optionally, you can enjoy kayaking or biking (with additional cost).

Before returning to Puno, we will enjoy a typical lunch, closing this unforgettable cultural and natural experience.

Very complete and well organized tour

Visiting these islands is a worthwhile experience. The guide took us by boat to the Uros islands, where we could talk with local families and then take a ride on the typical boats made of reeds.

Then we continued the tour of Lake Titicaca to Taquile. There we were welcomed with music and typical dances in a small handicraft market. Then we had lunch and while we ate, the guide told us details about the history and culture of the place.

I chose to do it by speedboat, which I highly recommend. You can leave your belongings in the boat since it is the same boat that accompanies you throughout the tour.

The excursion had pick up and drop off at the hotel, so, in short, a very complete and well organized tour, ideal to learn about life and traditions in the lake.
