- Don’t forget a hat or cap, sunscreen and sunglasses to protect you from the intense sun.
- Wear comfortable and resistant shoes, ideal for short hikes on uneven or wet terrain.
- Carry soles or bolivianos in small bills, useful for handicrafts, snacks and personal expenses, as some places do not accept cards.
- Don’t forget your camera or phone with a charged battery to capture the scenery and unforgettable moments of Lake Titicaca.
To cross into Bolivia, keep the following in mind:
- Valid passport: Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months. You must present it at the Desaguadero border.
- SIGEMIG registration: Don’t worry! We’ll help you with this immigration process before you board the bus. Each traveler needs their own registration—yes, even the little ones! This is required by the SIGEMIG system. Once it’s ready, save the QR code on your phone to show it at the Desaguadero border.
- Tourist visa: If you’re from the United States, Israel, or the European Union, good news! You no longer need a visa to enter Bolivia as a tourist (for up to 90 days). But be aware: some nationalities do require one. To confirm whether this applies to you, text us your nationality at +51 966 364 437, and we’ll be happy to provide personalized advice.
