Description:
This fascinating tour begins at 7:00 a.m. with pick up from your hotel in Puno, to embark on a journey to our first destination: Lampa, known as the Pink City. We will arrive at approximately 9:00 a.m., where we will visit the emblematic Santiago Apostle Church, built in 1795 and declared Historical Patrimony. Inside, there is a replica of Michelangelo’s Pieta, as well as the traditional catacombs and the historic Colonial Bridge of Calicanto, symbols of the viceregal past.
Continuing the tour, we will arrive at the town of Pucará around 11:45 a.m. Here we will visit the Archaeological Complex of Kalasaya, an important ceremonial center where anthropomorphic sculptures were found and are now exhibited in the Lithic Museum of Pucará. After the visit, we will enjoy a box lunch.
In the afternoon we will head towards our last and spectacular destination: Tinajani Canyon, located in the district of Ayaviri, where we will arrive at approximately 3:00 pm. This impressive canyon is famous for its forest of rock formations of volcanic origin, which exceed 50 meters in height, sculpted by erosion into unique and enigmatic shapes. There are three natural springs carved in stone, shaped like jars, which give the canyon its name and are surrounded by legends about supernatural beings that inhabit the area.
Tinajani is an ideal place to connect with nature, recharge energies and experience the mysticism of the Andean highlands.
